Parish prayers will take place at 4PM Wednesday evening at the church. Catholic Aid, Christian Moters and the Mission Group will pray at 4:30 PM. Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Albany.Gertie was born October 6, 1921 in Pittsville Wisconsin to Joseph and Anna (Kirsch) Poxleitner. She married Alex Cremers on June 21, 1943 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. The couple took over the Cremers family farm north of Albany in St. Anthony where she worked as a homemaker and mother raising her four children. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, which was shown through her involvement in the choir and Catholic Aid groups throughout the years. Gertie had many activities that gave her joy in life including gardening, bowling, baking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, playing cards and Pokeno. She also had a great love of driving. She put her love of driving her car to good use by visiting the sick and elderly, delivering meals on wheels, delivering parts or supplies to those on the farm, and just being an all around taxi to those who needed assistance. Any time she got to spend in her car, even if it was just for a relaxing Sunday drive enjoying the countryside was time well spent. To those who knew her best, Gertie will always be remembered for being a patient, caring, and loving woman. In life, she was a peacemaker. What Gertie loved most in her life was time she got to spend with her family and grandchildren that she loved so much. Gertie is survived by her children Jim (Joan) Cremers, St. Anthony; Bob (Ann) Cremers, St. Anthony; Mary Kay (Mark) Hoeschen, St. Joseph; Joyce (Fritz) Hoeschen, Freeport; and her 13 grandchildren and 23 ½ great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Anna Poxleitner, her husband Alex Cremers who passed in 2006, her grandson Chad Cremers, and her siblings Ray Poxleitner, Ceil Schwinghammer, John Poxleitner, Theresa Forster, Joe Poxleitner, Mary Schiffler, Benno Poxleitner, and Rita Groetsch.

“Mama, are you in the garage?” XOXOXO
Meine lieblings Oma.. one of my favorite authors Dr. Seuss once said, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory”. I have been so blessed to have felt that value in my life so many, many times with you. Now that memory will forever remain etched in my heart. Ich liebe dich Grossmutter!
What a blessing to have known Gertie. I aspire to be the active, loving life woman she was. I will forever remember she and my Mom sitting curbside at the 4th of July parade in St Joe. These 2 women, who during that day, transformed into the 2 little girls who watched that parade their whole lives. I will miss you Gertie!!
My Dear Aunt Gertie,
We needed another laugh session and to “schnabble “but you are in the best place now and rest in peace Dear Auntie.
I will always remember times spent with you esp. when I was just a young girl and vacationed at your house. You just made everything so special. I will miss you dearly.
Grandma,
You were an amazing grandma and great-grandma to me and my family! I strive each and everyday to live my life like you did…with patience and grace! You will forever be in my heart. Miss you dearly. May you and grandpa dance together once again!
Love you,
Katie
Thanks for the breakfasts you shared with me and the great visits we had during those “short” times! We will do it again in time. Greet Mom and Dad for me and enjoy Christmas with Grandpa and Grandma with the whole family together again. I will miss you in so many ways. Ich will dich wieder sehen.
My dearest mama,
I want to call you as I have done so many nights. I know you are gone but I feel your presence within me. You have left so many memories to all of us. I only pray and hope I can follow your footsteps; you are the most amazing mother any daughter could possibly have. Your legacy lives on forever, mom. I will call you, mom. Please answer.
Mama! Enjoy Eternity! I saw the bright shining sun and the two most beautiful rainbows encompassing the sun on the morning of your biggest celebration of life! 12-5-13. I felt your presence. Promise me you will check in with me. I will wait forever. I have been blessed with the most precious mother anyone could have. Auf Weider Sehen Mom!!
