Alois “Al” J. Sobania

Age: 83 February 02, 1932 – July 27, 2015 Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Alois “Al” Sobania, age 83, of Sartell and formerly of Bowlus, will be at 12 Noon on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Bowlus.  Father John Odero will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery.  Al passed from this world to the next in the early morning hours on Monday.  There will be a visitation one hour before service, at 11:00 AM at the church Thursday morning.  Arrangements are being made with Miller-Carlin Funeral Home, Holdingford. Al was loved and known by many as “Touch”  or “Big Al” of Sartell, MN passed away on July 27, 2015.  Born February 02, 1932 in Bowlus, MN to Joseph and Mary (Klimmek) Sobania.  Throughout life Al’s careers included:  Saw Mill Owner, Mink Ranch Owner, Farmer, Alaskan Salmon Fisherman, Bus Driver & Construction.  He married Mary Lou Puchalla on November 27, 1958 in North Prairie and together they had seven children.  Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, barbequing, inventing and spending time with his family.  He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Bowlus.  We will truly miss and love you until we meet again!  You will remain in our hearts forever! He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary Lou.  Children:  Jim J Sobania – Bowlus, Jeanette M Potter {m Bob} – St. Cloud, Marie J Rudolph {m Joe} – Sartell, David A Sobania – Bowlus, Dennis M Sobania – Bowlus, Cindy M Sobania {m Tom Travaglio} –  Sartell.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Sobania.  Son: Joey J Sobania.  Siblings: Pete, Roman, John, Albert, Leo, Rose, Frances, and Clara.
