March 27, 1917 – June 11, 2010The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Alois Boeckers, age 93 of St. Anthony, will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 15 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Alois died Friday at the Albany Area Hospital. There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Monday evening at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany and again after 10:00 AM Tuesday at the church in St. Anthony. St. Anthony parish prayers will be at 4:30 PM Monday at the funeral home in Albany.Alois was born March 27, 1917 in Millwood Township to Gerhard and Pauline (Barrutt) Boeckers. He married Anna Heinen on October 18, 1949 in St. Anthony. The couple farmed together near St. Anthony their entire life until their retirement in 1985. Alois was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and Catholic Aid. He also was a member of the St. Anthony choir for many years and enjoyed music and singing. Alois enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing cards, fishing and was a great fan of the Minnesota Twins.
Alois is survived by his wife, Anna, Albany; his children; Ralph (Janet) Boeckers, St. Joseph; Diane (David) Yell, Brooklyn Park; Dennis (Mary Ellen) Boeckers, Sauk Centre; Roger (Nancy) Boeckers, Forest Lake; Sharon (Joseph) Knepprath, Maple Grove; Ervin (Shirley) Boeckers, Adell, WI: Janice (Richard) Collins, Aitkin; Thomas (Elizabeth) Boeckers, Arlington, TX; Carol (Dennis) Miller, Sun Prarie, WI; and Mark (Judy) Boeckers, Buffalom 24 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Alois is also survived by his sister, Ida Boeckers, Albany.He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerhard and Pauline Boeckers, his brothers Oswald, Leander, infant twin brother August, and sisters Monica Schwinghammer and infant Anna and grandson, Chad Boeckers.
