Beatrice (Bea / Poo) was born January 02, 1937 to John and Angeline (Pilarski) Paggen. She was raised in Holdingford and the family later moved to Waite Park. She attended Technical High School and then the St. Cloud Business College. She started working for Stearns County in 1956 and remained until she retired as Office Manager.
She married Elmer Dahl on Sept. 3, 1956, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park. Bea and Elmer were married for 57 years. After marriage, she lived in St. Cloud for the remainder of her life. Bea was able to remain in the home she helped build until she passed.
Bea was an active person and originated the term “Busy as a Bea.” Over the years, she participated in softball, bowling and golf – she was a pretty good athlete. Bea spent many hours refinishing furniture and sewing. In retirement, she worked to unravel the mysteries of the slot machine and was one of the lucky few who came out ahead. She cherished her casino bus trips with friends and family. During the years with Elmer, they were very active members of the St. Cloud Antique Auto Club. The close-knit club members fondly referred to her as “Aunt Bea.”
Bea was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit. She will be remembered for her caring, positive, and generous personality.
Bea is survived by her children Jim (Dayna) Dahl, St. Cloud; Jean Dahl, Frankfort, KY; Jody (Andy) Frye, Minneapolis; her grandchildren Aubrey (Curtis Brown), Corey, Sondra (Bryce Cash), Rachel, Ben, Aidan, and Adysen; her great-grandchildren Emersyn, Beckett, Hayzel Beatrice, Caden; her brothers David “Rasty” Paggen, Waite Park, Gerald “Manny” Paggen, Rice, and sister Judy Laudenbach, WI; special family friend, Sue Boom.
She is preceded in death by her husband Elmer, son Jay, parents John and Angeline Paggen, brothers Jerry and Donny, sister Marcie, granddaughter Hannah Frye and grandson Eric.
