Bertha Henderson

Age: 86 May 01, 1929 – March 14, 2016 The Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Bertha Henderson, age 86 of St. Cloud, will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 17 at the Church of St. Anthony in St. Cloud.  Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.  There will be a visitation after 10:00 AM, Thursday at the church.  Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Bertha was born May 1, 1929 in Krain Township (near Freeport) to Frank and Kathrine (Lehner) Lange. She was united in marriage to Louis Wellnitz in Minneapolis on June 30, 1956.  Louis died on June 4, 1977.  On October 26, 1985, Bertha was united in marriage to Forrest Henderseon of Roseville, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Minneapolis.  Forrest died on October 10, 1999 in St. Cloud.  Bertha was employed by McLaughlin Gormley King Company in Minneapolis for 27 years before retiring in 1985.  Bertha enjoyed cooking, entertaining, reading, music, gardening, playing cards, and, while still able to do so, playing golf and traveling.  She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, Legion of Mary, and a faithful Eucharistic Chapel Adorer. She is survived by godchildren, Ruth Schofield, Michelle Schmidt and Brenda Eldred and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She is joined in her eternal home by her parents, her husband Louis and her husband, Forrest.  Her sisters and brothers; Barbara Hortsch, Agnes Voss, Frances Harren, Anna Gerads, Kathryn Lange, Monica Ostendorf, Loretta Herkenhoff, Medelon Lange, Frank, Peter, Lawrence and Jerry Lange.  She is also preceded in death by her godson, Charles Lange and 13 nieces and nephews. Memorials are suggested to the Church of St. Anthony 2405 First Street North, St. Cloud 56301; or the Poor Clare’s Monastery 421 Fourth St. S, Sauk Rapids, MN 56379. A special thank you to the St. Benedicts Senior Community and the St. Croix Hospice for their excellent care given to Bertha.
