Catherine “Kathy” Ellison

Age: 61 August 03, 1950 – July 29, 2012 The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Catherine “Kathy” Ellison, age 61 of Spring Lake Park, will be 10:30 AM Thursday, at the St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake.  Fr. Virgil Helmin will officiate, private burial will be in the Becker Cemetery.  There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Wednesday, and again after 9:30 AM Thursday at the church in Clear Lake.  St. Marcus parish prayers will be at 7:30 PM Wednesday at the church.  Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.Kathy was born August 3, 1950 in St. Cloud to Newell and Margaret (Carlin) Henry.  She grew up in Clear Lake.  Her mother died when Kathy was three years old and Newell then married Helen Kiffmeyer, who raised and nurtured Kathy.  After graduating from Becker High School in 1969, Kathy moved to Minneapolis.  She married Richard “Dick” Ellison on June 19, 1981 in Clear Lake and the couple lived in Minneapolis and then moved to Spring Lake Park in 1985.  Kathy worked for Minnesota Workers Compensation Insurance Association in Edina for over 38 years, where she was a receptionist.  She  was a member of the St. Marcus Catholic Church.Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Dick Ellison, Spring Lake Park; her mother, Helen Henry, Becker; her sister, Colleen (Bill) Kiffmeyer, Clear Lake; her brother, James (Colleen) Henry, St. Cloud, her sister-in-law, Darlene Henry, Delano and many nieces and nephews and in-laws, Ed and Sylvia Ellison, Monticello and John and Rebecca Ellison, Fountain Hills, AZ.Kathy is preceded in death by her birth-mother and father, her brother, Allen Henry and her niece Dawn Massmann.
