Chester “Chet” Angulski

Age: 87 November 23, 1927 – February 18, 2015 Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Chester Angulski, 87, of St. Anna will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Anna. Father Gregory Mastey will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Chester passed away at his home on Wednesday morning. There will be a visitation from 4:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Albany and again after 10:00 AM until the time of the service Monday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 PM, Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 5:30 and Albany American Legion Wake Service 7:00PM all Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are being made with Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Albany. Chester was born on November 23, 1927 to Vincent and Sophia (Szczawinski) Angulski in Avon Township. He grew up in the St. Anna area and graduated from the Albany High School. Chet served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946. He married Lois Lysher on June 21, 1952 in St. Anna. In 1955, he and his wife purchased the Pelican Lake Resort from his parents. Chet was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish, a Trustee, and longtime lector and choir member; the Knights of Columbus- a past Grand Knight, Albany American Legion, the Pelican Lake Association, St. Anna Sportsman Club, and the MN Waters. He also served on the Albany school board. He was employed in Production Control at DeZurik’s for 34 years, retiring in 1990. Chet enjoyed spending time with family and friends and friendships made at the resort, traveling -especially visiting the Holy Land and to Poland to meet his Angulski relatives; classical music, crossword puzzles, and reading. He was a great outdoorsman, a steward of Pelican Lake, and enjoyed bird watching, hunting, and mushroom gathering. Chet is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois Angulski; five children, Debra Angulski, Avon; Mary Kay (Dean) Baggenstoss, Bemidji; Gail (Scott) Michaletz, North Mankato; Kevin Angulski, Minneapolis; and Kathryn (Charles) Stifter, Champlin; 11 grand-children: Shadric, Jacob, Peter, Anne, Jon, Matthew, Laura, Emma, Andrew, Sarah, and Molly; 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; siblings, Edwin (Marie) Angulski, Coon Rapids; Jeanne Sobieck, Avon; and Daniel Angulski, Crystal; in-laws: Leon (Anne) Lysher, King George, VA; Joan (Harold) Vos, Dane, WI; and Jane Miller, Bedford, VA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
