Cory Hansen

Age: 55 October 28, 1963 – February 13, 2019 Although Cory was only with us for 55 years, his impact on our lives was significant.  Some of us knew Cory as a talented athlete and an even more talented artist and professional musician.  Others will remember him for his youthful exuberance and fearlessness.  He was the first in the family to try skydiving, he loved driving a motorcycle, and was never afraid to try new things.  Most of us, however, we will remember him for his kind heart and selflessness.  Cory was proud of his many accomplishments and achievements, especially his success as a musician in the Marines; but he always focused on the accomplishments of others.  He bragged about his friends and family nearly every day. Cory lived with a mental illness for more than 30 years without complaining about the unfairness of his situation.  He cherished the little things that most would take for granted.  He anxiously anticipated nightly phone calls with family, trips to the movies or to the local fast food joints, and most of all, family gatherings.  To Cory, a hug was just about the most valuable thing that anyone could give him. Cory leaves behind a legacy of courage and strength under what many would consider devastating circumstances.  He has been a shining example of his faith in Christ and others.  Cory loved his family and friends unconditionally, and in return he was loved by everyone who knew him. Cory, you are loved, you will be missed, and you will never be forgotten. Cory is Survived by his mother, Pat Hansen, Sartell; sisters and brothers, Sandy Stock, St. Cloud, Cindy (Steve) Dockendorf, Champlin, Randy (Brenda) Hansen, St. Cloud, Terry (Mike) Wolbeck, Sauk Rapids and Ron Hansen, Sartell as well as eight nieces and nephews and two great nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, Leo Hansen, in October, 2016. The Family invites you to join them in food and fellowship immediately after the service today.
