Cyril Hartung

Age: 80 March 25, 1930 – September 25, 2010 The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Cyril Hartung, age 80, of Holdingford, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 28 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Holdingford.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Cyril died Saturday at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Monday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Holdingford and again after 9:00 AM Tuesday at the church.  St. Mary’s parish prayers will be at 5:00 PM followed by the St. Joseph’s Society and the Knights of Columbus St. Isidore Council #9301 at 7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home in Holdingford.Cyril was born March 25, 1930 in Krain Township to George Sr. and Elizabeth (Lang) Hartung. He grew up on the family farm and he lived there and farmed the land all of his life.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Holdingford, where he was active as an usher and helped maintain the church and church grounds.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus St Isidore Council #9301 and the St. Joseph’s Society.Cyril is survived by his brothers, Alphone (Betty) Hartung, Avon and Stephen (Lorraine) Hartung, Avon and many nieces and nephews.Cyril is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Virginia Eickhoff and his brother, George Hartung.
