Doris M. Townsend

Age: 82 February 08, 1930 – September 22, 2012 Memorial services celebrating the life of Doris Townsend, age 82, of Mahtomedi, formerly of Sauk Rapids, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.  Fr. David Schultenover, SJ will preside.  Visitation  will  precede the service from 9:00-10:00 AM.  Doris passed away quietly in the memory care unit at St. Andrews Village in Mahtomedi, MN on September 22nd. Doris was born February 8, 1930 to Isadore and Frances (Ohmann) Schultenover in Sauk Rapids. She was a 1948 graduate of Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, MN, class of 1948.   Doris was married to Bill Mears from 1952 until his death in 1968.  She married Warren Townsend in 1975 until his death in 2001.  She owned the Pointy Head Inn in Bass Harbor, ME for over 28 years and enjoyed her many guests over the years.  She was a world traveler, loved her flower garden, and collected early American antiques.  Doris is survived by  her children Charles (Laura) Mears, Michelle Mears, MD (Dean Inman), grandchildren Kalina Kuklinska, Evan and Josef Kuklinski; siblings Luanne Borgert , Mardelle England,  Lloyd (Marge) Schultenover, Yvonne (Jim) Sexton,  Romie (Kathy) Schultenover,  David Schultenover SJ, Marilyn (David) Haak, Stephen Schultenover, MD (Kathy),  sister-in-law Joyce Schultenover,  and many nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Isadore and Frances Schultenover; husbands William (Bill) Mears, Warren Townsend; brother Bernard (Ben) Schultenover; niece Carrie Borgert, brothers-in-law Kenneth (Ken) Borgert and Robert (Bob) England.
