Age: 68 December 23, 1944 – April 18, 2013 Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of DuWayne David Warzecka, age 68 of St. Joseph will be 11AM Monday, April 22nd 2013 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in St. Wendel. Father Mark Stang will officiate, and burial will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery. DuWayne died peacefully surrounded by his family in his home Thursday afternoon after a courageous battle with cancer. There will be a visitation for DuWayne from 4-8PM Sunday, April 21st at the St. Columbkille Catholic Church and again from 10AM until the time of the service Monday morning at the church. Parish prayers will take place at 5PM Sunday night at the church. Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Holdingford.DuWayne was born December 23, 1944 to Bernard and Salomae (Kroll) Warzecka in St. Wendel. He married Karen Schmidt on June 13, 1964 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Holdingford. He lived his entire life in the St. Wendel area where he helped raise his four sons and also worked for the Minnesota DOT for 39 years. He also dug graves by hand for 40 years in St. Wendel. After his retirement in 2007 DuWayne drove school bus for Holdingford Public Schools. DuWayne was known as an avid sportsman who loved to hunt, fish, and go camping. He also loved watching Karen’s beautiful gardens grow. Above all things though, DuWayne loved spending time with his family. He was a past member of the Mud Slinger Four Wheel Drive Club, a Lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club, a past board member of Helping Hands, and also a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church where he participated in the church choir.DuWayne is survived by his wife Karen Warzecka, St. Joseph; his children Brian (Jodi) Warzecka, St. Joseph; Keith (Sandy) Warzecka, St. Joseph; Scott (Wendi) Warzecka, St. Cloud; Todd Warzecka, St. Joseph; his eight grandchildren; his siblings Dolores Huls, St. Joseph; Phil Stegura, St. Joseph; Lorrayne (Vic) Traut, Sauk Centre; JoAnn (Loren) Philippi, Avon; his brother-in-law Art Theisen, Waite Park; and his mother-in-law Clara Donnelly, Holdingford.He is preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Salomae Warzecka, his brother Herbert Warzecka, his sisters Corrine Borresch, and Janet Theisen, his sister-in-law Angie Warzecka, and his brothers-in-law Math Huls, Joe Stegura, and Bob Borresch.
