Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Evelyn Catherine Notsch, age 94 of Albany will be 11AM Saturday, December 1st, 2012 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Father Michael Naughton will officiate, and burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the service. Evelyn died peacefully in her sleep early Wednesday morning surrounded by her family at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. There will be a visitation from 4 to 8 PM Friday, November 30th at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in Albany and again from 10AM until the time of the service Saturday morning at the church. Parish prayers will take place at 4PM Friday evening at the funeral home. The Catholic Aid and St. Ann’s Society will pray the rosary at 6PM. Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Albany.Evelyn was born September 23, 1918 in St. Joseph to Alois “A.G.” and Hattie (Bovy) Theisen. She married Herman Notsch on July 20th, 1940 in St. Joseph. The couple farmed in many areas including St. Joseph and Jacobs Prairie before eventually retiring to Albany. Besides working as a home maker and mother raising her seven children Evelyn took great pride in her seamstress abilities. She sewed many beautiful wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and draperies over the years. She also had a great love of flowers and gardening. She was a member of St. Ann’s Society, Catholic Aid, and was also a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church of Albany.Evelyn is survived by her children Ronald (Evie) Notsch, St. Cloud; Loren (Yvonne) Notsch, St. Joseph; Judy (Gary) Meyer, Freeport; Wayne (Lois) Notsch, Little Falls; Ricky (Laurie) Notsch, Chokio, MN; Glenn (MaryKay) Notsch, Phoenix, AZ; her sixteen grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and her siblings Olivia Ley, St. Cloud; Marian (Clarence) Kremer, St. Cloud; Luverne Griffin, Ogden, UT.She is preceded in death by her mother and father Alois and Hattie Theisen, her husband Herman Notsch who passed in 2004, her daughter Marilyn Simon, her brothers Raymond, Albert and Walter Theisen, her infant sister Mathilda, her twin grand daughters Beth and Becky Meyer, and her son-in-law Francis Simon.
