Genevieve “Gen” G. Kloss

Age: 90 June 26, 1923 – May 11, 2014 Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Genevieve “Gen” Gertrude Kloss, age 90 of Royalton will take place at 11AM, Friday, May 16, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton.  Father Laurn Virnig will officiate, and burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the mass.  There will be a gathering from 10-11AM Friday morning at the church prior to the service.  Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of St. Cloud.Genevieve was born June 26, 1923 on a farm near Elmdale to Steven and Mary (Habas) Nouis.  After graduating from Upsala High School, she later married Leonard Kloss on June 4, 1945 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Elmdale.  The couple moved to Buckman and later Royalton where Gen worked as a farmer, mother, and home-maker raising their seven children.  Gen will be remembered as being a terrific baker.  Especially remembered will be her wonderful coffee cakes and stuffing.  Gen also had a great love for the land which she showed through her beautiful gardens and many trees she planted over the years.  For pleasure, Gen always enjoyed a quick trip to the casino.  What gave her the most enjoyment in life was watching her family grow up.  She especially loved the time she got to spend with her many grandchildren.  She was a member of the Royalton Ladies Auxiliary, the Christian Mothers, and Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Royalton.Genevieve is survived by her seven children Karen (Delroy) Winscher, Buckman; Ronnie (Audrey) Kloss, Royalton; David (Diane) Kloss, Royalton; Denise (Jim) Guck, Rice; Mary (Carly) Winscher, Royalton; Paulette (Rick Beightol) Kloss, St. Francis; Sandi (Jeff) Hansen, Cold Spring; her twenty two grandchildren and 24.5 great-grandchildren; and her siblings Rita Kloss, Royalton; Robert (Sally) Nouis, Texas; and Arnold Nouis, Arizona.She is preceded in death by her parents Steven and Mary Nouis, her husband Leonard who passed in 2006, her brothers Damon, Jerome, and LeRoy Nouis, her sister Delphine Westlake, her great-grandson Gavin Martin and her brother-in-law Leo Kloss.
