Herbert Ostendorf

Age: 75 May 27, 1935 – September 25, 2010 The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Herbert B. Ostendorf, age 75 of St Cloud, will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 28,  at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud.   Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.   Herbert died peacefully in his sleep, Saturday at Country Manor Care Center in Sartell. There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Monday at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud, and again after10:00 AM Tuesday at the church.  Holy Spirit parish prayers will be 5:00 pm followed by the St. Cloud Eagles Aerie 622 at 6:00PM Monday at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home.Herbert was born May 27, 1935 in Krain Township to Albert and Mary (Stueve) Ostendorf.  He was a life time resident of central Minnesota.  He married Kathleen Sauerer on November 13, 1956 at the St. Johns Abbey Church.  He was a truck driver and he owned his own trucks and leased them to Gold’N-Plumb for over 25 years.  He was a member of the Waite Park Moose Lodge, the St. Cloud Eagles Aerie 622 and Holy Sprit Catholic Church.Herbert is survived by his wife, Kathleen, St. Cloud, his children; Darrell (Lori) Ostendorf, Sartell; Cheryl (Mike) Waseka, Sartell; Gary (Cheryl) Ostendorf, St. Cloud; Patti (Paul) Peterson, Rochester; Dean Ostendorf, St. Cloud and Todd (Melissa) Ostendorf, Clearwater.   He is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Ervin (Ludvina) Ostendorf, Waite Park; Edward (Kathy) Ostendorf,Sartell; Evelyn (Harvey) Mohs, Waite Park;  Gerald (Mary) Ostendorf, Spicer; Raymond (Jackie) Ostendorf, Kandiyohi; Werner (Janet) Ostendorf, Freeport;  Roger (Geraldine) Ostendorf, St. Cloud; Eugene (Mary) Ostendorf, Holdingford; Rita (Terry) Lomheim, Avon; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Anthony Ostendorf and Walter Ostendorf; sisters, Mildred Gillitzer, Lorraine Kroska; and Helen Ebensteiner.
