Age: 83 May 15, 1926 – September 22, 2009 UPSALAHERMAN SOBANIA May 15, 1926 – September 22, 2009 The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Herman Sobania, age 83 of Opole, will be 10:30 AM Friday, September 25 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Opole.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.   Friends may call from 4-8:00 PM Thursday and again after 9:00 AM Friday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Holdingford.   Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish prayers will be at 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home in Holdingford. Herman was born May 15, 1926 in Opole to Paul and Elizabeth (Schwintek) Sobania.  He lived his entire life in the Opole area.  He married Theresa Pyka on November 24, 1949 in Opole. Herman farmed and then was a machinery dealer for many years, selling Case as well as other brands.  He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Opole. Herman is survived by his children, Elaine (Jerry) Omann, Holdingford; Ione (Frank) Patrick, Rice; Sharon (Jim Popp) Feia, Pierz; Maynard (Shari) Sobania, Holdingford; Lynell (Sherry) Sobania, Holdingford and Marlin Sobania, Holdingford.  Herman is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Theresa on March 20, 2008, two grandchildren and his brothers and sister, Edward Sobania, Leonard Sobania, Robert Sobania, Caroline Sobania and two infants.
