Ione Mary Breth

Age: 78 February 19, 1935 – August 03, 2013 The Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Ione Mary Breth, age 78 of Upsala, will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 6th 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Upsala.  Father John Odero will officiate, burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the service.  Ione passed away early Saturday morning at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany.  There will be a visitation for Ione from 4:00 – 9:00 PM Monday, August 5th and again from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Tuesday morning at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Upsala. Prayers by the Christian Mothers will be at 6:30PM followed by St Mary’s parish prayers at 7:00 PM. Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Upsala.Ione was born on February 19th, 1935 in Richmond to John and Eleanor (Ludwig) Braegelmann.   She married Reinhard Breth on May 31st, 1955 in Richmond. She was a nurse’s aide for the St. Cloud Hospital and a homemaker. She and her husband farmed together for over 35 years and raised 10 children. She enjoyed rug weaving. Ione was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Upsala. She was a Religion Teacher and a Eucharistic Minister she was also a member of the Christian Mothers and Legion Auxiliary in Upsala.Ione is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Reinhard Breth, Upsala; her children, Mary Breth, Melrose; Sharon (Chuck) Weber, Blaine; Marvin (Bree Heidecker) Breth , Albany; Vernon (Jan) Breth, Holdingford; Val Gill, St. Joseph; Joyce (Ken) Hellermann, Sauk Centre; Lois (Rick) Fischbach, Avon; Denise (Ray) Sieben, Royalton; Dale (Stacy) Breth, Burtrum; Kathy (John) Schleper, St. Joseph ; 27 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Alfred, Eugene, Ralph and Gerhard; sisters, Theresa Friedrich and Julitta Bromenschenkel.She is preceded in death by her parents John and Eleanor Braegelmann; brothers, Harold, Wilfred, Eddie, Alvin and John Jr. and sisters, Rosetta, Alverna, Bernadine and Cecillia.
