James “Jim” Blommer

Age: 68 February 02, 1944 – August 30, 2012 The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of James “Jim” Blommer, age 68 of St. Cloud, will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 4th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park.  Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.  Jim died peacefully in his sleep Thursday evening at his home.  There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Monday and again after 9:00 AM Tuesday at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.  St. Joseph’s parish prayers will be at 6:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home in St. CloudJim was born  February 4, 1944 in St. Cloud to Clarence “Ole” and Dorothy (Orth) Blommer.  He married Dorothy A. Surma on June 26, 1965 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud.  Jim and his wife co-founded Park Press Inc, Waite Park, MN in 1979.  They operated  the business together until Dorothy’s death  in 2004.  Jim sold Park Press in 2005.  He enjoyed casino trips (especially with Jim and Bonnie), his friends at the East Side VFW, classic cars, hunting, the color red, and his family and friends, but nothing was more important to him than his kids and grandkids.   He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park, the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, the Minnesota Waterfowl Association, the St. Cloud Antique Auto Club (Pan Towners) and the NRA.  He was also involved in his church and was on the Festival Planning Committee. Jim is survived by his daughters; Sarah (Steve) Gilloley, St. Cloud; Kathy (Kyle) Czeck, St. Cloud and Theresa (Josh) Krueger, Sauk Rapids.  He is also survived by his brothers, Jerry (Judy) Blommer, Waite Park; Tom Blommer, St. Cloud; Bill (Leone) Blommer; St. Cloud; Mike (Donna) Blommer, St. Cloud; Bob (Donna) Blommer, St. Cloud and Dick (Gail) Blommer, St. Cloud, grandchildren Mason Czeck, Cullen Czeck Nora Krueger, honorary granddaughter, Samantha Gilloley and one grandchild on the way.Jim is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his wife, Dorothy on October 22, 2004; his sisters-in-law, Marie Wunderlich, Bernie Karls and Marie Blommer and his brothers-in-law, Richard Burgmeier, David Geyen and Eddie Wunderlich.Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph’s Church, Waite Park Church Festival, 2012 Schedule and Information Visitation Details There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Monday and again after 9:00 AM Tuesday at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
