Laverne “Vernie” Zieglmeier

Age: 88 April 19, 1930 – November 22, 2018 The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Laverne “Vernie” Zieglmeier, age 88 of St. Cloud, will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 27 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in St. Cloud.  Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.  Vernie died Thursday at the St. Cloud Hospital.  There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 Monday at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud and again after 10:00 AM Tuesday at the church. Vernie was born April 19, 1930 in St. Cloud to Killian and Theresa (Lommel) Heid.   She married Theodore “Ted” Zieglmeier on August 21, 1952.  The couple lived in St. Cloud where Vernie was a homemaker, raising the couples five children. She enjoyed gardening, baking, feeding the birds, coffee group socials and caring for her family and friends.   She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and a former member of the Holy Spirit Christian Mothers. Vernie is survived by her children, Gary (Colleen) Zieglmeier, Byers, CO; Dale Zieglmeier, St. Cloud; Sandy (Paul) Voigt, St. Augusta; Mark Zieglmeier, St. Cloud and Tammy (Kenny) Sales, Albany.  She is also survived by her sister, Darlene Heid, St. Cloud, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ted in May, 2008, her grandson, Brandon Zieglmeier and brothers, Cyril Heid and Ronald Heid.
