Lidwina C. Blenker

Age: 98 April 04, 1912 – January 10, 2011 Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Lidwina C. Blenker, age 98 of Albany will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 14, 2011 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany.  Father Michael Naughton will officiate, and burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the service.  Lidwina passed away early Monday morning at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany.  Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church and again from 10 AM until the time of service at the church on Friday.  Parish prayers will be at 4:30 PM on Thursday at the church, followed by Christian Mothers praying at 5 PM.  Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Brenny Funeral Home in Albany.Lidwina was born April 4, 1912 to George and  Magdaline (Habiger) Christen in Albany.  After graduating high school, Lidwina attained a teaching certificate from the teacher school in St. Cloud.  Lidwina married Joseph Reber in 1936.  Joseph passed away in 1943.  She later married George Blenker in 1953.  George passed away in 2005.  Lidwina worked on the farm with her husband most of her life.  She was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, and various mission groups.Lidwina is survived by her son Tony (Mary) Reber, Albany; her six grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her mother, father, her husbands Joseph Reber Sr., and George Blenker, her infant son Joseph Reber Jr., her adult son Joseph Reber Jr., her brother and sisters Sr. Viola Christen, Marie Haberman, Sr. Agnes Christen, Caroline Reber, Carl “George” Christen, Adeline Tamm, and Sr. Lois Christen, and several great-grandchildren.
