Marjorie E. Jowdy

Age: 93 March 17, 1920 – January 06, 2014 Funeral Services celebrating the life of Marjorie Elizabeth Jowdy, age 93 of Waite Park will take place at 11AM Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Chapel in Albany.  Pastor Dennis Campbell will officiate and burial will take place at the Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery following the service.  Marjorie died peacefully in her sleep early Monday morning at Sterling Park Nursing Home in Waite Park.  There will be a one-hour gathering prior to the service Friday morning starting at 10AM.  Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of AlbanyMarjorie was born March 17, 1920 to John and Eva (Bass) Adams in DeRitter, LA.  She married Albert M. Jowdy on March 29, 1941 in Long View, Washington.  In her life Marjorie lived in a lot of locations including growing up in Louisiana and Washington State, and later moving to Virginia, Turkey, Italy, Trinidad, Florida, then settling in California.  However, Marjorie spent the last three years in Minnesota surrounded by family and love.  In those different locations, she worked a variety of occupations as well, including secretary, bank teller, hair stylist, but the job she took the most pride in was being a mother and homemaker.  She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Albany, and recently a member of the Granite City Baptist Church in St. Cloud.Marjorie is survived by her children Nancy Ewart, San Francisco, CA; Jolene (Mike) Lobitz, Avon; Randall Jowdy, Washington; her grandchildren Colin, Marlah, Meaghan, Elizabeth, Sarah, Ashley; her great-grandchildren Leah, Alyssa, Kelsey, Kolton, Everett, Oliver; and her sister-in-law Marjorie Adams.She is preceded in death by her parents John and Eva Adams, her husband Albert Jowdy, and her siblings Aubrey Adams, Virginia Johnson, and John Adams.
