Marvin Dean Lardy

On Friday, April 8 ^th , the family of Marvin Dean Lardy welcomes you to join them in a celebration of his life.

Marvin was born on July 26, 1937, in Scobey, Montana to father Raymond Lardy and mother Lydia (Severt) Lardy. He had 6 siblings. When Marvin was a child, the family moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota. As a young adult, Marvin had great work ethic; his first job was a paperboy and he then worked at Coca-Cola Bottling as a driver/deliverer. He also proudly represented Barbarossa as a driver for several years. After that, he owned numerous rental properties, a Golden Plump Chicken farm, and spent his free moments raising beef cattle on his beautiful St. Augusta acreage. At heart, Marvin loved farming most. He found solace in the country lifestyle, raising animals, and cultivating farmland.

Marvin will be remembered as a strong and loving patriarch. As a Cathedral High School alumnus, he also cared deeply about Catholic education, and supported scholarship funds and student life at Cathedral High School.

He passed away on Sunday April 3, 2022, at the age of 84. Marvin died peacefully with his beloved wife Mary by his side.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, and stepdaughter Teresa (Terri) Louise Prom. He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Prom Lardy, and stepdaughter Margie Hartneck. Also surviving are his daughters Michelle (Shelly) Parson (Bruce), Marsha Jean Binnebose (dc. Mark), Mary Kuhl (James), and former spouse Mavis Randall Lardy. He is also survived by a legacy of loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Marvin is planned for Thursday, April 7 ^th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Help of Christian Church in St. Augusta, Minnesota. All are invited to attend. An additional visitation will follow on Friday, April 8 ^th at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m., also at the Church.

Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin Funeral Homes.

A visitation for Marvin is planned for Thursday, April 7 ^th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Help of Christian Church in St. Augusta, Minnesota. All are invited to attend. An additional visitation will follow on Friday, April 8 ^th at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m., also at the Church.  Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin Funeral Homes.
