Melvin L. Ramler

Age: 87 June 24, 1925 – February 19, 2013 Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Melvin Leo Ramler, age 87 of Sartell (formerly Albany) will be 11AM, Saturday February 23rd at Seven Dolors Catholic Church of Albany.  Father Michael Naughton OSB will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the service.  Melvin died in the St. Cloud Hospital Tuesday morning.  There will be a visitation from 9-11AM Saturday morning prior to the mass at the church.  Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Albany.Melvin was born June 24th 1925 to Henry and Anna (Busch) Ramler on a farm near Albany.  He married Jeanette Rademacher on May 19th, 1948.  The couple eventually bought the family farm that Melvin farmed on until the age of 80.  Melvin had many hobbies in life including fishing, golfing, and playing 500.  He especially liked spending time with his grandchildren.  Melvin was a past member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and St. Joseph’s Society.Melvin is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years Jeanette Ramler, Sartell; his children Ken (Nancy) Ramler, Sartell; Mary Tollefsrud, Eagan; Jean (Mike) Christen, Paynesville;Shirley (Jim) Studenski, Sauk Rapids; Peg (Pete) Jansky, South Haven; Kevin (Dona) Ramler, Avon; Tim (Sherry Say) Ramler, Milaca; his 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren ; and his sisters Mildred Mueller, Melrose; Delores Phillipi, Waite Park; and Rose Binek, Upsala.He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Anna Ramler, his brother Clarence, Ambrose, and Roman Ramler, and his sister Berniece Senger.The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of the St. Cloud Hospital for their compassionate care they gave.
