Raymond “Ray” L. Augustinack

December 15, 1931 — June 25, 2014

Age: 82 December 15, 1931 – June 25, 2014 Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Raymond “Ray” Lawrence Augustinack, age 82 of St. Cloud will take place at 11 AM Monday, June 30th 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud.  Father Tom Knoblach will officiate, and entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery following the mass.  Ray died peacefully at the St. Cloud Hospital Wednesday morning.  There will be a visitation for Ray from 4-8 PM Sunday, June 29th at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.  Parish prayers will take place at 6 PM followed by a time for sharing Sunday evening at the funeral home.  There will be a one hour gathering prior to the mass starting at 10AM Monday morning at Holy Spirit Church.  Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of St. Cloud.Ray was born December 15, 1931 to Wenzel and Theophelia (Woyak) Augustinack in St. Cloud.  The family later moved to Sioux Falls where Ray graduated from Washington High School in 1949.  He was drafted into the Air Force and served from 1951-53.  While in the Air Force he was stationed in Minneapolis, but later moved to St. Cloud where he lived the rest of his life.  He married Roselyn Kiffmeyer on June 25, 1957 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Augusta.  Ray was always a hard working family man.  He owned and operated several plumbing shops including Sy-Ray Plumbing and Heating, Granite City Heating, and West Side Plumbing, before eventually retiring in 1995.  Besides work, Ray was also an avid sportsman.  He had a true love for the outdoors and a great passion for hunting and fishing.  Ray was involved in many area groups and organizations over the years including  the Waite Park Legion Post 428, the VFW, Waite Park Moose Lodge, Eagles Club, MN Deer Hunters Association,  MN Water Fowl, Pheasants Forever, Knights of Columbus, and Holy Spirit Catholic Church.Ray is survived by his children Daniel (Barb) Augustinack, Apple Valley; Rev. Susan (Thomas) Augustinack-Peterson, Marion, IA; his daughter in law Ginger Augustinack, Baxter; his six grandchildren Christopher, Megan, James, Kendra, Tony, and Paul; his siblings Patricia Martinson, Sauk Rapids; Carol Dunn, Plymouth; George (Bea) Augustinack, Savage; Phil (Cathy) Augustinack, Brooklyn Park; his special friend of 12 years Anita Hinkemeyer; Anita’s children Cindy (Tom) Marquardt, Kimball; Deb (Joe) Sodomka, Burnsville;  Sheila Hinkemeyer, Mesa, AZ; Scott Hinkemeyer, Kimball;  and Anita’s grandchildren Scott, Brooks, Brian, Kayla, Dillen, Eric, Jenny, Dan;  and many other family and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents Wenzel and Theophelia Augustinack, his wife Roselyn who passed in 2002, his son  Steven Augustinack who passed in 2013, and his siblings Loretta Debrobander, and Walter Augustinack.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Holy Spirit Catholic Church of St. Cloud.
