Age: 85 March 15, 1929 – May 15, 2014 Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Raymond “Ray” Patrick Waletzko, age 85 of Avon will take place at 11AM Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church-St. Hedwig.  Father John Paul Knopik will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the mass.  Ray died unexpectedly in his home early Thursday morning.  There will be a visitation from 4-8PM Monday, May 19th and again from 10AM until the time of the service at All Saints Catholic Church-St. Hedwig.   The Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 7PM Monday evening at the church.  Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Holdingford.Ray was born March 15, 1929 to Charles and Mary (Wilczek) Waletzko on a farm near Avon.  He graduated from Holdingford Public School, and went back to his family farm where he lived and worked as a farmer.  He married Josephine Kuklok on September 21, 1954 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Opole.  Together they raised their six children on the farm which became a century farm in 2013.  Besides raising dairy cattle and crop farming, Ray also worked as a seed dealer for Wensman for many years.  He eventually retired from farming in 1999.  Working on the farm was a big part of his life but he also greatly enjoyed fishing, working on his John Deere tractors, and spending time with his family.  Ray was a Grand Knight and an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, and a very active member of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church where he was also a trustee member.Ray is survived by his wife Josephine Waletzko, Avon; his children Bruce (Jean) Waletzko, Federal Way, WA; Ann (Jeffery) Krych, Holdingford; Duane (Denise) Waletzko, Sartell; Mary (Randy) Skroch, Swanville; Mark (Kari) Waletzko, Sartell; Jeffrey (Jane) Waletzko, Cold Spring; his 14 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; his siblings Lorraine (Michael) White, Florida; Edward (Maryann) Waletzko, Waite Park; Wallace (Jeanette) Waletzko, Holdingford; and his sister-in-law Jean Waletzko, Avon.He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Waletzko, his infant daughter, and his brothers Norbert, George, and James Waletzko.
