Richard “Dick” L. Lommel

Age: 82 August 12, 1928 – March 06, 2011 Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Richard L. Lommel, age 82 of St. Cloud will be 10:30AM Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at St. Mary’s Cathedral Catholic Church in St. Cloud.  Father Tony Olrich will officiate, and burial will take place at Assumption Cemetery following the service.  Dick died peacefully at St. Benedict’s Nursing Home early Sunday morning.  There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.  Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.Dick  was born August 12, 1928 to Leo and Olivia (Bichler) Lommel in St. Cloud.  He married Geraldine Jensen on July 8, 1950 in Sioux Falls, SD.  Dick lived nearly his whole life in the St. Cloud area.  He worked as a bricklayer, most recently for Royl Masonry before retiring in 1993.  Dick was a member of the NRA, the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, The Swampriders Snowmobile Club, the Bricklayers Union, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church of St. Cloud.Dick is survived by his wife, Geraldine L. Lommel, St. Cloud; his children, Robert W. (Susan) Lommel, Minnetonka; Deborah L. (Jack) Brantley, Radcliff, KY; Richard A. Lommel, Inver Grove Heights; Lynn M. (Alan) Berndt, St. Cloud; Craig S. (Maureen McConnell) Lommel, Eden Prairie; and his brothers James (Shirley) Lommel, Nisswa; LeRoy (Bert) Lommel, St. Cloud; Wayne (Jan) Lommel, St. Cloud.He is preceded in death by his parents Leo J. and Olivia B. Lommel, and his sisters Dolores Hoffman, and Ione James. Schedule and Information Visitation Details There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service.
