Rita V. Kostreba

Age: 83 April 07, 1927 – February 13, 2011 Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Rita V. Kostreba, age 83 of Holdingford will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Opole.  Father Glen Krystosek will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the service.  Rita died peacfully at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany Sunday evening surrounded by her family.  Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM, Friday, February 18 at the Miller-Carlin Brenny Funeral Home in Holdingford.  Parish prayers will be at 5 and Christian Mothers will pray at 6 at the funeral home on Friday.  Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Brenny Funeral Home in Holdingford.Rita was born April 7, 1927 to Anton and Mary (Nagorski) Palluck in Sobeski.  She grew up Stearns county area, later moving to Minneapolis, and eventually coming back to live the rest of her life in the Holdingford area.  She married Vince Kostreba on June 26, 1945 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  Vince later passed away on August 5, 1993.  Rita worked in manufacturing at the Honeywell plant as well as Fingerhut.  She was a member of the Christian Mothers, the Opole Catholic War Vets Auxillary, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Opole.Rita is survived by her children Roger (Irene) Kostreba, Elk River; Sandra (Robert) Mohs, St. Joseph; 13 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Anton Palluck, her husband Vince Kostreba, and her siblings Joanne Lauderdale, Sally Anderson, Conrad, Joe, John, Leo, Stanley, Florian Acker, Isadore, her twin brother Richard, and Lawrence Palluck.
