Roman J. Schichta

Age: 84 August 22, 1929 – October 24, 2013 Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Roman Jerome Schichta age 84, of Bowlus will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Elmdale.  Father John Odero will officiate and burial will take place at the parish cemetery.  Roman passed away early Thursday evening at the Pierz Villa Nursing Home.  There will be a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the mass Saturday morning at the church.  Arrangements are being made with Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Holdingford.Roman was born August 22, 1929 to John and Mary (Korneck) Schichta in Swanville Township. He served in the US Army during the time of the Korean War.  He lived his entire life on the family farm in Bowlus where he raised cattle and farmed.  He sold the cattle and retired from farming in 1991.  Roman was a member of the Bowlus Legion, a Life Member of the Little Falls VFW, the Knights of Columbus, and St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Elmdale.Roman is survived by many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Schichta, and his siblings Regina Czech, Joseph Schichta, and Rose Gosiak.
