Age: 89 December 06, 1926 – August 28, 2016 The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of RoseAnn Bohlig, age 89 of St. Cloud, will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 3 at the Cathedral of St. Mary in St. Cloud.   Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.  RoseAnn died Sunday at the St. Cloud Hospital.  There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM, Friday, September 2 and again after 9:00 AM, Saturday at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.   RoseAnn was born December 6, 1926, to William and Madeline (Murray) Mathews.  She was one of five children.  RoseAnn attended Cathedral High School and graduated from the College of St. Benedict with a degree in  English.  She taught school in Melrose, MN for 2 years and for 2 years in a country school in Benton County.  In 1948, she married Ves Bohlig and they joyously welcomed 7 children into their lives.  They shared 67 years of marriage.  In 1975, RoseAnn returned to work as a paraprofessional at South Junior High School.  RoseAnn had a great love for Junior High Students.  Her desk in the media center was always filled with students just wanting her help, encouragement and friendship.  The principal often remarked that RoseAnn knew the names of every student in the entire school. RoseAnn also assisted her husband, Ves, operate Bohlig Dry Cleaners in St. Cloud.   After 30 years, she retired from the job she loved so much.  Her greatest love was her family.  Her husband, Ves was the love of her life.  Her seven children, 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.  Each of them loved her in a very special way.  It was her constant encouragement and motivation that inspired all of them.  In many respects, she was the quarterback of the family.  Her famous slogan was “reach for the stars” and every one of her children and grandchildren did just that.  She understood that her true success in life would be the legacy of memories she left with her family and friends.  Her family’s greatest memories were the holidays she always made so special.  During the years she worked as a Media Professional, RoseAnn received many honors.  In 1989, she was awarded the Minnesota State Award for outstanding service to the children.  In 1993, she received the Distinguished Service Award for District 742.  She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Mary in St. Cloud. RoseAnn is survived by her loving husband, Ves; her six children, Sue (Terry) Pladson, St. Cloud; Kay (Pat) Spaude, Hutchinson; Karen (Joe) Klein, St. Cloud; Joanne (Mike) Smith, St. Cloud; Judy (Dave) McStott, Maple Grove and Bob (June) Bohlig, St. Cloud; 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Maxine Lester, Seattle, WA and Kathy Lutgen, St. Cloud.  RoseAnn is preceded in death by her parents;  her daughter, Patty Makepeace; her sister, Mary Schnettler; brother, Leroy Matthews. RoseAnn will be greatly missed for her positive attitude, her understanding and encouragement she always gave to all her family and friends, as well as her special ability to see the best in everyone she met.  The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Tom Nardi, his nurse Carrie and the staff at the St. Cloud Hospital on Medical Unit 1 for their kindness and compassionate care.
