Tamara “Tammy” Steffes (Smith)

Age: 50 July 14, 1963 – August 29, 2013 Funeral Services celebrating the life of Tamara Sue Steffes (Smith) , age 50 of Coon Rapids (formerly the St. Cloud area) will take place at 3PM Friday, September, 6th 2013 at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Chapel in Saint Cloud, MN.   Jim Erickson will lead the service and a private burial will take place at a later time.  Tamara died unexpectedly Thursday morning in St. Cloud.  There will be a one hour gathering prior to the service on Friday starting at 2PM at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.Tamara was born July 14th 1963 to Stanley and Joyce (Myllykangas) Smith in Litchfield, MN.  She grew up in the Kimball area and after graduation from high school moved to St. Cloud.  She married Larry Steffes on August 27th 1988 and soon after moved to Coon Rapids where she spent nearly the rest of her life.  Tammy was a gifted musician which she portrayed through her love of playing the piano.  She was also known for her talents as a cook and gardener.  Tammy worked as a waitress for a large part of her life serving at such places as Perkins, Bakers Square, and IHOP.  What she was most proud of in her life, however, were her children whom which she loved dearly.Tammy is survived by her children Tom Steffes, Phoenix; Tiffany Steffes, Coon Rapids; her parents Stanley and Joyce Smith, Kingston; her siblings Todd (Kim) Smith, St. Cloud; Terry (Tom) Smith, Edina; Troy (Janice) Smith, Kingston; Tanya (Jared) Dahnke, St. Cloud; and her step-children Eric Steffes, Phoenix; and Gina Steffes, Phoenix.She is preceded in death by her ex-husband Larry Steffes, and her grandparents Norman and Harriet Smith, and Roy and Lempi Myllykangas.
