Obituary

Victorine (Vicki) Mary Nies, age 92, of Sauk Rapids, formerly of Luxemburg, peacefully passed away on May 28, 2022 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at St. Wendelin Parish at 11 AM with visitation from 9:30 – 11 am at the church.  Entombment will be at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.

Vicki was born on December 10, 1929, in St. Cloud, MN to Leo and Mathilda (Brauch) Molitor.  She grew up on the family farm in the Grand Lake area and attended Rocori School.  She married Reinhard (Ray) Nies on September 30, 1950, at Holy Cross Church, Pearl Lake, MN.  Following their marriage, they moved to Luxemburg where they farmed.  Vicki was a wonderful cook and hostess. Everyone who visited, never left without eating and/or enjoying a beverage. All were thrilled to have received her dumpling recipe.  She loved gardening, planting flowers and embroidering.  Vicki was a compassionate caregiver to several family and friends.  She loved playing cards and bingo with her friends at Country Manor.  Vicki had a strong faith and was a member of the Christian Mothers.  Even though Vicki lived a long and busy life, her family always came first.

She is survived by her children, Vernon (Cheri) Nies of St. Augusta, MN, Connie Nies of Phoenix, AZ, Eugene Nies of St. Augusta, MN, Sandee (Bob) Edelbrock of St. Cloud, MN, Marlene (Scott) Ergen of St. Cloud, MN and Patti (Barry) Brix of St. Augusta, MN; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Harold Molitor of Cold Spring, MN.

Preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 2000, parents, Leo and Mathilda, brother, Paul Molitor, sister, Cressie Preusser, and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Schedule and Information

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Saint Wendelin Parish at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the church. Entombment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Saint Cloud, MN.
