Wilfred J. Zieglmeier

Age: 84 January 29, 1927 – November 29, 2011 Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Wilfred John Zieglmeier, age 84, of St. Augusta will be 11 AM, Monday, December 5th, 2011 at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta.  Father Robert Rolfes will officiate, and burial will take place in the parish cemetery on Tuesday.  Wilfred died peacefully at the Foley Nursing Home Tuesday afternoon.  Friends may call from 4-8 PM, Sunday, December 4th, 2011 at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.  Parish prayers will take place at 7 PM, Monday evening at the funeral home.  Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of St. Cloud.Wilfred was born January 29, 1927 in Waite Park to Michal and Susan (Boos) Zieglmeier.  He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1948.  After his discharge from the Navy he married Marcella Noggle on April 24, 1948 in Waite Park.  He lived his entire life in the Stearns county area where he worked as a cement mason.  Wilfred most recently worked for Burgland Johnson Contractors of Minneapolis before retiring in 1982.  He served on the Stearns County Planning Commission board and was a member of St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church of St. Augusta.Wilfred is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Marcella Zieglmeier, Sartell; his children Linda (Lonnie) Randal, Charlottesville, VA; Tom Zieglmeier, St. Cloud; Gail (Richard) Martinson, Oakpark; Sue (Mark) Olinger, San Francisco, CA; Bruce Zieglmeier, St. Cloud; Lisa (Michael) Powel, Cold Spring; his 13 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Herbert, Mike, Gilbert, Cyril, LeRoy, Irene, RoseMary, Isabel, Vivian, and Evelyn.
