STEEN GUNNAR ANDERSONServices celebrating the life of Steen G. Anderson, age 85 of Waite Park, will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 3 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Steen died peacefully Wednesday, of natural causes, surrounded by his children and loved ones at Quiet Oaks Hospice. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service Tuesday at the church.Steen was born February 11, 1924 in Sweden. At age 6, he moved to the United States. He grew up in St. Cloud, the son of John and Astrid Palm. Steen proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He earned a B.A. from St. Cloud State College and spent his career with International Harvester. He married Cleo Joyce Wicklund on June 5, 1950 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Steen had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved fishing, boating, golf, traveling and spending time with his family and many friends.Steen is survived by his children, Kevin Steen (Deb Rose) Anderson, Shoreview; Catherine Cleo (Denny) Haley, Minnetonka; and Jenny Lee Anderson (fiancé Daniel Hall), Waite Park; brothers and sisters, Harold (Barbara) Palm, Rockford, IL; George (Delores) Palm, Baudette; and Yvonne Gustafson, Dawson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan (Suzy), Ross, Sam, and Dena; great-grandchildren, Holly and Alice and a large extended family. He also leaves behind a loving partner of 3 2 years, Rosaire Hall and special friend, Larry King.Steen is preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife of 55 years, Cleo on August 9, 2005.A very special Thank You for the extraordinary and loving care given to Steen in the last week of his life by Quiet Oaks Hospice. Also, Thank You to Steen=s doctors at the St. Cloud Hospital who tried so hard to make him better, especially Dr. Barb Bollinger.Memorial are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice.
