A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mary Virginia (Updike) Walz, age 63, of St. Cloud, MN will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 17, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Father Scott Pogatchnik will officiate and burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud. Mary passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, July 13th. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at 9:30. Arrangements are being made with Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Mary was born on March 20, 1952 to Duane and Rose (Rogero) Updike in St. Cloud, MN. Mary Graduated from Tech High School in 1970. She enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with her granddaughter and children.
Mary is survived by her children Ray Walz, St. Cloud; Jerry Walz, St. Cloud; Dan Walz, St. Cloud; Sarah (Jason) Norton, Sartell; and granddaughter Lindsey Norton, Sartell. She is also survived by her siblings Rosalie Zupan, Crosby, Susan (Leon) Kerfeld, Grey Eagle; Nancy Johnson, St. Cloud; David Updike, Sauk Rapids; Donald Updike, Waite Park; as well as many other family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother Duane and Rose Updike, infant brother Joseph Duane, and all of her grandparents.
Thank you to all who have been family, friends, neighbors and co-workers of Mary. In her own way she loved and appreciated you all. Although we will be parting ways after the cemetery, and not gathering for a meal, please know you are all appreciated.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Mary it has been a great pleasure getting to know you over the years I will miss you dearly I’m glad we just seen each other not to long ago and got to give each other that one last Hug I will forever miss you and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers also your children and family during this difficult time may you rest in peace
